Libraries as Partners for Emergency Preparedness and Response in Times of Crisis

Libraries as Partners for Emergency Preparedness and Response in Times of Crisis is a preliminary investigation into library-community partnerships during public crises, especially the scope and nature of partnership, library role in partnership, and how emergency type effects partnership. Major project activities include one survey to uncover initial findings, and two Community Engagement Roundtable discussions to discuss survey findings and develop initial partnership recommendations. Outcomes will include findings from the survey and roundtables and a white paper available on a project website. Beneficiaries will be communities of all types who will benefit from the increasingly comprehensive community support, resources, and services during crises that further understanding of successful library-community partnerships will bring.
